The S.R.O

The School Resource Officer program provides a Deputy Sheriff to each school in Chowan County.  We currently have three Deputy Sheriff School Resource Officers (SRO’s).

The positive influence that these law enforcement officers have on the day to day lives of each student is priceless. The friendships that develop, serves not only as a chance for the deputy to be a good role model but also as a crime deterrent.  The one-on-one relationship between the student and the deputy allows problems to be solved before they escalate beyond control.
