The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit and Patrol Deputies have an interlocking working relationship with respect to crimes committed and reported.

The detectives assigned to the Investigations Unit are highly trained and deploy a number of effective techniques to gather and analyze evidence. They are responsible for the investigation of crimes such as homicides, armed robbery, sexual battery, crimes against children, kidnapping, domestic violence, serious assault cases, missing persons, unattended deaths, economic crimes.

Chowan County Investigators use the latest equipment technologies to process crime scenes and evidence, and are assisted and backed by the State Bureau of Investigation.
